Client
Dobson Communications Corporation (Cellular One)
Background
Dobson Communications/CellularOne, a cellular service provider
that served 17 states and 250 markets, hired MCS as public
relations agency of record to raise awareness, increase
market share and
promote the company’s brand for significant growth. In
the six years we worked for them, our focus and efforts were
on programs,
events and media attention. Our partnership with Dobson/CellularOne
ended when they were acquired by AT&T in 2007.
Strategies
Concept, Development, Consultation, Facilitation: public
relations programs that aligned with and promoted the
company’s brand;
regularly and aggressively garnered media attention/publicity
through press releases, alerts, media relations, contacts,
interviews, and events.
Tactics
Public/media Relations
We located and cultivated
relationships with a solid mix of media outlets, locally near
retail locations
and nationally, to provide
the most effectual and favorable conduits through which
to broadcast communications, solidify the brand, and bring
awareness to Dobson’s/Cellular
One’s products and services.
We successfully and adroitly crafted communications
with targeted approaches.
We employed thorough follow up to elucidate
story ideas and create attention where there may not have been
any before.
Everyone at MCS gave full accessibility in
answering questions or providing explication with media professionals
for each story,
idea or pitch
We utilized a thorough, prompt reporting
system, including the gathering of various news clips, identifying
their locations,
outlet circulations, the expressions of the stories and other
client-specific factors.
